Location

The Roaring Fork Valley fosters an active and outdoor life style. The diverse equestrian community includes western performance and English disciplines, as well as seasonal polo and rodeo events. Nested in the Colorado Rockies, the practice area offers seven world class ski resorts, Gold Medal trout streams, whitewater rivers, and expansive wilderness areas. Glenwood Springs is also home to the largest hot springs pool in the world.

Requirements

Competitive applicants are required to have a degree from an AVMA accredited school of veterinary technology, with equine related experience and training. Additional requirements include the VTNE and state licensure. Equine anesthesia experience is preferred.

Hours: 32-40/wk

Emergency on-call shifts, overnight nursing, and weekends are required on an as needed basis and are shared equally among the team.

Successful applicant is team oriented, able to manage time and triage independently, have excellent communication skills, and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • intake for referral cases
  • daily nursing and medical treatments for inpatients
  • assisting doctors with outpatient and emergency cases
  • performing diagnostic lab work
  • maintaining hospital functions
  • management of inventory for ambulatory appointments
  • assisting with examination and treatment of patients (including set-up, operation, and maintenance of diagnostic equipment)

Salary/Wage: $17 to $30 per hour, depending on qualifications
